I have the privilege of having two companions in the MTC

Anziano Larsen Brooks

Elder Brooks is from Bountiful, Utah and is 18 years old and comes from a family of nine. He has an older sister, a younger sister and 4 younger brothers.

He played football for Bountiful High School as a Wide Receiver and a Safety. He enjoys boating, especially Lake Powell. He loves all sports and loves talking about sports. Also, he wears his Stance socks with the Stance logo on the inside of his feet, so we’re homies:).

Anziano Jayton Rizzo

Elder Rizzo is from Nikiski, Alaska, which is on the west side of a peninsula, south of Anchorage. He comes from a family of eight. He is the only boy among 5 girls. 3 sisters are older and 2, are younger.

He enjoys drama and the theater. He loves his dog, which has only 3 legs. He also has a dog sled team. He’s a cool guy! Sooo funny. And, as you can tell by his last name, his ancestry is Italian.

Mantova Italy – Nov. 11, 2015

I am from Idaho Falls, Idaho.  I have a 21 year old brother and a 16 year old sister.  Before the mission, I worked at numerous places.  A few include Subway and MacKenzie River Pizza. I graduated from High School in 2014 from Skyline High School in Idaho Falls.  I also went to a semester of school at BYU Idaho to study some generals.  Some of my hobbies included ballroom dancing, getting involved, hiking, skiing, and every once in a while, going to the movies.

Mantova is my 4th city in Italy.  I previously served in Genova, Bergamo, and La Spezia. I am serving with Anziano Griffiths as his trainer for my 6th and 7th transfer.

I have a strong love for missionary work and a testimony of Jesus Christ and His restored gospel on the earth today.  I realize more and more every day how much love our Heavenly Father has for all of us.  He wants us to be happy.  In fact, His work and His glory is to help us know true joy and to bring to pass the immortality and eternal life of man.  He wants us to become like him, and he has provided us a way to do that; through the gospel of Jesus Christ.  Life can be really difficult as things out of our control, or even choices within our control, change the situations around us.  For example: a difficult decision, death of a loved one, or lacking the spiritual, physical, or emotional things we need.  But, what I have come to know is that as we put our trust in the Lord and put Him first, even in those difficult times, He does not abandon us, but refines us into the people he wants us to become, and helps make going through those times a little bit easier.
